Paprec 600: Maccaferri Futura Scores an Impressive Second Place at its Debut

Second Place for Rosetti - Paupon

The Paprec 600 has just ended, starting and finishing in Saint Tropez, a demanding race through the Ligurian Sea, Corsica, and the Tyrrhenian Sea that tested skipper and boat with nearly 4 days of sailing in complex weather conditions: from almost no wind to gusts over 40 knots.

After a difficult start, Maccaferri Futura, in its debut in the Class 40 circuit, caught up, closing the gap with the leading group and engaging in a tight battle with the four top crews. In the end, Luca Rosetti’s boat secured a surprising second place, a result of great value for a brand new Class 40 still in the tuning phase.

Sergio Iasi, President of Officine Maccaferri, comments:
“We are very pleased with this debut. Second place in such a tough regatta is a great sign for the Maccaferri Futura season. Our congratulations and full support go to Luca and Yaël for this project.”

Luca Rosetti also expresses his enthusiasm:
“This regatta was key to getting to know the boat in depth and fine-tuning every detail. I’m very happy with the result and ready to push even harder in the upcoming challenges.”

With this outstanding performance, Maccaferri Futura confirms itself as a main player in the Class 40 circuit, ready to compete in the most challenging regattas with steadily growing performance and reliability.

Now, after a well-deserved rest, Maccaferri Futura will be transferred by sea to its base in Lorient, Brittany, where training and preparation will begin for the prestigious Les Sables – Horta – Les Sables at the end of June, which will be our racing team’s first ocean race.
